On 2nd of February, the 2025 Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Award Ceremony was held in Beijing, where 54 outstanding scientists and technologists received the Ho Leung Ho Lee Prize. Professor Han Xu of Hebei University of Technology was honored with the 2025 Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress – Mechanical and Electrical Power Technology Award.

For over 30 years, Professor Han Xu has been dedicated to the field of advanced design of complex equipment, making systematic and innovative contributions that span fundamental theoretical innovations, key technological breakthroughs, and engineering applications. Professor Han has led and completed a number of major key projects, including an Innovation Research Group project, National Key Research and Development Program projects, and the 2030 Artificial Intelligence initiative. Han has received 1 second prize of the National Prize for Progress in Science & Technology, 5 first prizes of provincial & ministerial level science & technology awards, the Asia-Pacific Computational Mechanics Valliappan Medal, and the Hebei Provincial Outstanding Contribution Award. Han is also the author of five monographs (both in Chinese and English) and has published over 300 papers. Han has been consecutively named a Highly Cited Chinese Researcher by Elsevier for 11 years.
The Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation was established in 1994 by Hong Kong patriotic financiers Ho Sin Hang, Leung Kau Kui, Ho Tim, and Quo Wei Kwok. The prize is awarded annually to recognize outstanding scientists in China, and has grown into a largescale, highly authoritative, and credible social science award in the country. Over the past 31 years, a total of 1,692 distinguished scientists and technologists have been honored. The Foundation has played an important role in encouraging independent innovation, stimulating talent vitality, and promoting the spirit of scientists.
