Recently, the “ARCASIA Students Architectural Design Competition 2021” recommended list of the Architectural Society of China was announced. The work "Design of Residential Function Improvement Based on the Dual Goals of Community Opening and Closure" done by Wang Jiale and Yang Siyi, students majoring in architecture in the School of Architecture and Art Design of Hebei University of Technology (instructor: Hu Zinan) was recommended as one of three winning entries by the Architectural Society of China.
The competition is sponsored by the Association of Asian Architects (ARCASIA), and this year was jointly organized by the Architectural Education Committee of the Asian Association of Architects and the Architectural Society of China. The Architectural Education Branch of the Architectural Society of China organized industry insiders to set up a judging committee to review the works submitted by China and select 3 winning works for recommendation to the Asian Association of Architects. The competition provides a learning platform for students from countries or regions in Asian, so that students from different cultural backgrounds have the opportunity to share various design concepts and methods.
The theme of this year's competition is "Public Space in the 15-Minute Living Circle", which explores related issues and provides solutions from both physical and social perspectives. The planning and design of the scheme does not set limits on levels and scales. It can be the renewal of an urban fragment, the regeneration of a garden, a device that reconnects the neighborhood, and a child-friendly urban renewal, etc. Students are encouraged to observe their city and clarify the problems and give corresponding solutions in this competition.
