On May 19, the 5th World Smart Conference - Artificial Intelligence and Industrial Development Summit Forum, hosted by Tianjin Municipal Education Commission and organized by the university, was held at Tianjin Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Centre. Professor Sun Fengchun, member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and former vice President of Beijing Institute of Technology, professor Zhao Chunjiang, member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Director of the National Agricultural Information Engineering Technology Research Centre, was invited to give special reports. Professor Bai Haili, deputy director of the Tianjin Municipal Education Commission, Sudan, director of the Scientific Research Department of the Tianjin Municipal Education Commission, university leaders Han Xu, Meng Xiangqun and Hu Ning, as well as renowned experts in related fields from various universities in China attended. The forum was presided over by Li Tiejun, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice President of the university.

Bai Haili said that this forum aims at strengthen the collaborative innovation between universities and industries and enterprises, and enhance the ability of universities to serve national science and technology development, as well as promote Tianjin's scientific and technological innovation, achievement transformation and industrial gathering in the field of artificial intelligence, and promote the rapid development of intelligent industries. We hope that with this summit forum, we can comprehensively demonstrate the good conditions and environment for the development of artificial intelligence industry in Tianjin, and sincerely invite universities and enterprises to carry out cooperation with the greatest sincerity, and provide the best service and the best environment.

President Han Xu said that the deep integration of artificial intelligence and manufacturing will become the core driving force of industrial change and the strategic high point of scientific and technological innovation. After two years of construction, the Beichen Institute of Intelligent Equipment, which was jointly built by the university and the Beichen District Government, has been officially established. The university will give full play to the role of "advanced equipment engineering and technology", such as electrical, mechanical and material disciplines.  It will also promote the development of the "integration of production, education and research" talent training model, accurately address industry development issues, and cultivate talents needed by the industry. Let's take the 14th Five-Year Plan as the traction and work together to promote the development of strategic emerging industries such as big data, artificial intelligence and blockchain, and create a new situation for the development of artificial intelligence industry.

In the High-end Dialogue on Artificial Intelligence and Industry, Professor Ding Jianning, vice President of Jiangsu University, Professor Chen Yong from the faculty of Mechanical Engineering, together with Hu Ning and Zheng Lipeng, discussed the development of a new generation of artificial intelligence, the technical requirements of artificial intelligence for industrial development, and the training of artificial intelligence talents.
