On July 21 and 22, the 18th Academic Conference of the Mechanics Society of mechanics of the seven northern provinces and urban areas was held in Rizhao, Shandong. After the recommendation of the mechanics society of seven provinces and urban areas, the expert review and the voting of the award panel, finally 4 mechanics science and technology workers won the 6th Du Qing-Hua Mechanics and Engineering Award. Professor Hu Ning from the School of Mechanical Engineering of our university is among them.
Hu Ning is the professor, doctoral tutor, and Vice President of Hebei University of Technology and dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering. He is also the director of the National Engineering Research Center for Technological Innovation Methods and Tools, National Overseas High-level Talents (Innovative Type A), National Natural Science Foundation of China, winners of the Cooperative Research Fund for Young Scholars from Overseas, Hong Kong and Macau (Class B), and enjoys the "Special Government Allowance of the State Council". He published 3 English books and 1 textbook as well authorized more than 20 Chinese and Japanese patents, and published more than 460 papers in Chinese, English, and Japanese academic journals, which has been cited more than 11,000 times. He is selected Elsevier China's highly cited scholars list in the past 7 years and has been included in the world's top 2% scientists list for the past two consecutive years.
The Du Qing-Hua Mechanics and Engineering Award is an award set up to commemorate Du Qinghua, who is a famous Chinese mechanic in engineering mechanics. He is the founder of the Academic Conference of the Mechanics Society of the Seven Northern Provinces, who is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a professor at Tsinghua University. The Award is aimed to inspire young and middle-aged talents in mechanics and engineering research and mechanics engineering education to promote the integration of mechanics and engineering. The award is selected every two years.
