Advance China-Finland Academic Collaboration:President Wang Limin of Hebei University of Technology Visits Aalto University


 


On May 6, Wang Limin, President of Hebei University of Technology (HEBUT), led a delegation to visit Aalto University in Helsinki, Finland, engaging in in-depth discussions on topics such as Sino-Finnish higher education cooperation, collaborative research development, and joint talent cultivation.


Jyri Hämäläinen, Vice President of Aalto University, expressed a warm welcome to the delegation on behalf of the university. He detailed the university’s development concepts and practical achievements in research, innovation, and interdisciplinary integration, stating that the university is committed to building an education system that serves industrial innovation, emphasizing the cultivation of students’ practical skills and an application-oriented research approach.


 

President Wang Limin provided a comprehensive overview of Hebei University of Technology’s history, educational philosophy, and distinctive characteristics, with a focus on the university’s scientific and technological innovation system and research platform development. He highlighted innovative achievements and talent cultivation advantages in key disciplines such as intelligent robotics technology, green chemical engineering, new energy and materials, and 3D printing construction.

 

During subsequent meetings, the two sides held discussions on topics including undergraduate and graduate curriculum system development and enterprise practice teaching mechanisms.

 

This visit marks the first formal exchange at the senior leadership level between the two universities, also represents a further deepening of collaboration built on prior faculty-student exchanges and academic research. Both sides are committed to establish a stable and systematic mechanism for further communication and cooperation.

 

The meeting was attended by Jussi Ryynänen, Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering at Aalto University; Anouar Belahcen, Vice Dean; and Anita Bisi, International Affairs Manager. Accompanying the delegation were representatives from Undergraduate School, Office of International Communication & Exchange, and staffs of Finland Campus.
