Cape Breton University Delegation from Canada Visits Hebei University of Technology
On November 13, 2025, a delegation of eight, led by Dr. David C. Dingwall, President of Cape Breton University (CBU) in Canada, visited Hebei University of Technology (HEBUT). President Wang Limin and Vice President Chen Hongyan jointly met with the delegation and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CBU. The meeting was attended by the heads of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, Langfang Campus, School of International Education, and School of Economics and Management. The meeting was chaired by Zhao Yingying, Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation.

President Wang Limin extended a warm welcome to the CBU delegation and introduced the university's overall development as well as the existing cooperation progress between the two institutions. He emphasized that the university consistently adheres to the principles of sincerity, mutual trust, mutual learning, and win-win outcomes, continuously promoting deeper and more substantive international cooperation between China and other countries. He expressed hope to further strengthen pragmatic cooperation with CBU, expand people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and continue to deepen the mutually beneficial partnership.
President David C. Dingwall expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and provided an overview of Cape Breton University. He noted that the sustained development of Canada-China relations offers a favorable opportunity for higher education collaboration, and that CBU attaches great importance to its partnership with Hebei University of Technology. He looked forward to enhancing mutual understanding and trust through this visit and expressed strong confidence in future cooperation.
During the meeting, Zu Lei, Dean of Langfang Campus, presented an overview of the campus and outlined potential areas for cooperation with CBU. He Jingfei, Deputy Dean of the School of International Education, offered suggestions regarding collaboration in international student training and development. Both sides exchanged views on future directions and models of cooperation.
Witnessed by the attendees, the university leaders formally signed the Memorandum of Understanding, reaching consensus on issues such as master's degree programs and joint cultivation of international students, thereby laying the foundation for deeper cooperation in the future.
