On April 22, the Hebei Provincial Science and Technology Awards Conference was held in Shijiazhuang. The conference honored the units and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the province's scientific and technological progress as well as its economic and social development. A total of 275 projects (and individuals) received the 2025 Hebei Provincial Science and Technology Awards. Ni Yuefeng, Secretary of the Hebei Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Hebei Provincial People's Congress, attended the conference and delivered a speech. Wang Zhengpu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Committee and Governor of Hebei, presided over the conference, while Wang Lujin, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Committee, announced the award decision.

In 2025, Hebei University of Technology (HEBUT) won seven first prizes, seven second prizes, and two cooperation awards. As the lead completing institution, HEBUT secured five first-prize awards, marking a new record high in the number of first prizes and achieving a "grand slam" by winning first prizes across all three major categories: Natural Science, Technological Invention, and Scientific and Technological Progress.

Among the award-winning projects where HEBUT served as the lead completing institution:

· The project "Sensing Mechanisms of Advanced Conductive Nanocomposite Materials," led by Professor Hu Ning, received a First Prize in Natural Science.

· The project "Preparation Technology and Device for High-Crack-Resistance and High-Toughness Concrete for Major Infrastructure," led by Professor Qing Longbang, received a First Prize in Technological Invention.

· Three projects won First Prizes in Scientific and Technological Progress:

o "Key Technologies, Standards and Industrialization of Green and Environmentally Friendly Electrical Contact Materials for Low-Voltage Electrical Apparatus," led by Professor Wang Jingqin;

o "Key Technologies and Applications of High-Performance High-Power Laser Source Equipment," led by Professor Wang Yulei;

o "Key Technologies and Industrialization of Wall-Climbing Robot Systems for Intelligent Maintenance of Large and Complex Equipment Facades," led by Professor Zhang Xiaojun.

These award-winning achievements are invigorating innovation in fields such as high-end equipment, new material preparation, and intelligent manufacturing, thereby helping to drive the transformation and upgrading of related industries in Hebei Province.
