Education Delegation from Finland Visits HEBUT

On June 26, Prof. Juha-Matti Saksa, president of Lappeenranta University of Technology, Prof. Turo Kilpeläinen, president of Lahti University for Applied Science, and Mr. Martin, director of Asian Affairs of South Karelia Government of Finland, visited HEBUT.



During the meeting, the two sides held in-depth discussions on the joint construction of Finland-China Arctic Belt and Road Cooperative University, the double-degree joint programs for undergraduates and graduate students and other topics. President Juha-Matti Saksa said that Finland is a green and safe country with high happiness index, and Lappeenranta University of Technology and Lahti University for Applied Science have good social prestige and educational strength. The two universities, focusing on scientific research and technology application respectively, are highly complementary and their cooperation have yielded fruitful results. And they hope to realize a win-win situation in scientific research and talent cultivation through the cooperation with HEBUT. Prof. Han Xu, president of HEBUT, said that Lappeenranta University of Technology and HEBUT shares a high degree of similarity in the program setting, especially in the fields of science and technology, design and business, and hopes that the two sides will push forward the cooperation process as soon as possible. He also expressed his belief that the Finland-China Arctic Belt and Road Cooperative University will achieve excellent cooperation results with the support of the two governments. At the end of the meeting, the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding.



After the meeting, the delegation visited National Technological Innovation Method and Tool Engineering Research Center, the Laboratory of School of Mechanical Engineering and the Library on Beichen Campus.
