HEBUT's Japanese Major Won Top Prize in National Japanese Composition Contest

On December 12th, the awarding ceremony of the 13th National Japanese Composition Contest was held in Japanese Embassy, Beijing. Song Yan from Japanese Class 141 of the School of Foreign Languages (SFL), beat other 4030 contestants and won the first of special-class award. Japanese Ambassador to the PRC presented the award to Miss Song and Asahi Shimbun,a major newspaper in Japan, also gave a detailed report on her success.

Song Yan’s excellent performance has promoted the influence of the Japanese Department and brought credit to SFL and HEBUT alike.

Over 4000 Contestants from 189 universities, including Tsinghua UniversityRenmin University of China, Beijing International Studies University, Wuhan University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, have participated in the contest. The contest has been held for 13 years since 2005 with larger scale, higher popularity and growing authority, making itself one of major events for Japanese majors in China.
