HEBUT and Florida International University Meet to Promote Cooperation

        On March 27th, Prof. Ma Guowei, vice president of HEBUT, met with Prof. Kang K.Yen, vice provost of Florida International University, to promote the cooperative program between the two sides.

 

 

        During the meeting, the two sides further negotiated on the syllabus, curriculum design, teacher development and implementation of the cooperative programs. They agreed to accelerate the program to ensure that the first batch of students start their study on time this year. Prof. Ma stressed that the program should strictly abide by MOE requirements, constantly introduce high-quality educational resources, and strive to become a model for Sino-American higher education cooperation.

 

        Prof. Yen expressed his gratitude to Prof. Ma for the reception. He reviewed the cooperation between the two universities since 2008 and pointed out the difficulties and problems existing at the current stage.  

        The double-degree program in electrical engineering and automation, which is jointly organized by HEBUT and Florida International University, will begin its enrollment in 2019 and is planned to enroll 100 students each year. Focusing on the educational advantages and social needs of both parties, the project adopts the “3+1” double-degree training model and the internationalized teaching system, aiming at developing high-level interdisciplinary talents with solid professional foundation, excellent cross-cultural communication ability and broad international vision.
