Delegation from Waterford Institute of Technology Visited HEBUT

       The 5-member delegation from Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) of Ireland, led by Professor William Donnelly, President of WIT, visited HEBUT on Oct. 23. 2017. Professor Han Xu, President of HEBUT, met the delegation. Professor Li Yantao, vice president of HEBUT, and the deans from the School of International Education, School of Electronic and Information Engineering and Office of International Cooperation and Exchange also attended the meeting.

       On behalf of HEBUT, President Han extended a warm welcome and introduced the centennial development of HEBUT, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Integration as well as the national strategy of Xiongan New Area to the delegation. He expressed his hope that both sides could further strengthen the students and faculty exchanges, academic cooperation in collaborative masters and doctoral programs.

       Professor William Donnelly, President of WIT, reviewed the friendly exchanges between both sides and spoke highly of HEBUT’s campus, long history and rich culture as well as her educational achievements. He expressed his hope that both sides, with the same school-running vision, could have in-depth cooperation via joint degree programs in software engineering, electronic information engineering and other leading disciplines. He also praised the teaching faculty of HEBUT who were sent to WIT for exchange and study.

       After the meeting, the delegation visited the History Museum of HEBUT, the Laboratory of School of Electronic and Information Engineering and the Beichen Campus.
