Recently, under the guidance of Professor Yin Fuxing, vice president and dean of School of Materials Science and Engineering, the "Yuanguang Scholars Sunday Forum" of the School  continued to be held. Wang Fei and Lin Jing from the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Zhang Yongguang and Xia Dan from the Energy Equipment Materials Technology Research Institute respectively guested on the 6th and 7th Forum.

Wang Fei made a report entitled "Microstructure of Sepiolite Mineral Nanofibers and Its Application in the Field of Energy Saving and Environmental Protection". The report described the thermal and mechanical properties improvement plan of sepiolite minerals and its specific application in energy saving and environmental protection.

Xia Dan, drawing from her own experience in atomic force microscopy, introduced how to use atomic force microscopy to study the biological structure and its performance with a talk entitled "Atomic Force Microscopy-Understanding Basic Modes and Advances".

Lin Jing’s report is "One-dimensional Optoelectrical Nanomaterials". The report introduced the research results of light-emitting properties of one-dimensional nanocomposites based on BN, and elaborated the mechanism of light emission control of various materials.

Zhang Yongguang, drawing from his own lithium-sulfur battery research experience, gave a talk entitled "Novel graphene based materials to composite with sulfur as cathodes for Lithium/Sulfur Batteries" as the title, thus highlighting his latest research in this area.

The "Yuanguang Scholars Sunday Forum" of the School of Materials Science and Engineering is a platform to promote the academic exchanges of faculty members, improve the level of academic studies, and advance the cooperation in the teaching and research of materials science. The forum is held every two weeks, inviting academics from the School of Materials Science and Engineering and the "Yuanguang Scholars" from the Energy Equipment Materials Technology Research Institute to deliver their latest findings.
