In the morning of Sept. 16, Mr. Robert Anderson, the first vice president of Massey University in New Zealand, Mr. Mike Asha Kniss, the director of the International Office and Professor Peter Kamp, the director of the Institute of Agricultural and Environmental visited our university.
The New Zealand guests firstly visited our history museum to give a high evaluation to our university history, theory on school management and development achievements and also signed the guestbook as a memento. Then, the two sides widely exchanged views on such issues as the upcoming networking professional 3+1 undergraduate level sino-foreign cooperative education program, engineering 1+1 master's level exchange program and short-term exchange of the students of Massey University to Hebei University of Technology and expressed the willingness to further deepen and expand the cooperation fields. Besides, they exchanged gifts and took a group photo to mark the occasion.
Since our university and Massey University in New Zealand signed the cooperation memorandum in May, 2007, the two universities have been working together to push the internationalization development and offer opportunities and platforms for general students and teachers to study and communicate abroad. The two universities signed the agreement of 2+2 undergraduate joint training in 2009, the agreement of 1+1 master joint training in 2013, and the agreement of organization in cooperation on the networking professional and information science undergraduate major program in August, 2014. In the foundation of the existed successful experience, the cooperation between the two universities shall be more closely to make greater achievements.
Massey University was founded in 1927, which is the largest education and research institution and also the only true national university in New Zealand. The university was used as the tinder collecting location for International University Sports Federation, comprising five colleges which shall respectively be the Academy of Sciences, the Business College, the College of Arts, the College of Education, and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Massey University is extremely well in such academic researches of business, veterinary, agricultural science, engineering, aviation and art and also listed among the top hundred universities in the Asia Pacific region with comprehensive academic research level. The university has strong master and doctor education strength and can train doctoral students every year ranked first nationwide. Massey University has campuses in Palmerston North, Wellington and Oakland.
